I am a high school senior and have started to give more than a passing thought to what field I want to earn my degree in.  I have fortunately been able to keep a very high GPA so i should not have much trouble being accepted to whatever program I decide to pursue.  last week the school organized a career day so we would have the opportunity to talk to professionals from different areas.  I was very impressed with the tax accountants that visited.  I understand it is not a very exciting career but I am certain I would be very good at this type of work.  I am leaning towards a degree in accounting.

When my son went off to college, he was originally convinced that a successful person should go for the highest-paying job he can get, right out of school.  I thought otherwise.

My advice to my son was to take a job which would give him a chance to learn everything he could about every job in the company, including sorting mail.  I told him entry level jobs are a great place to get perspective and learn what everyone’s responsibilities are.

Twenty years later he has worked his way up from the mail room to the executive suite and is famous for being a boss who understands everyone’s job.  He remains humble and appreciates every employee in the company.

The present I got for myself

The television set in my bedroom has been losing its color for the past several weeks. I really didn’t think anything about it until the other night when the color totally went out.
