It’s not just the classics
November 30, 2008 on 9:34 am | By admin | In ArtsWhenever I see someone promoting freely down-loadable books, whether ebooks or audiobooks, my mind conjures up three possibilities: either it’s an illegal download (don’t want those), it’s an old, out of print text (boring), or it’s a new, unpublished author (might be rubbish).
Audiobooks - particularly free audio book - are a risk as you often have to spend a longer time with the story before you realise it’s a poor choice.
But I’ve come across a number of audiobooks in particular, usually distributed as podcasts, that have the quality of text and production to keep me enthralled from start to finish. Commuting is now no longer boring.
