Will the Aptera Car Try The New STAIR Battery?

There’s a huge amount of excitement at the revolutionary ‘STAIR’ (St Andrews Air) battery. Will it result in a new wave of electric cars, laptops and mobile phones? The cells are charged in a traditional way but as power is used or ‘discharged’ an open mesh section of battery draws in oxygen from the surrounding air. This oxygen reacts with a porous carbon component inside the battery, creating more energy and  continually ‘charges’ the cell as it is being discharged. The battery cell is expected to last up to ten times longer than a conventional battery. The Aptera Car already leads the way in the use of battery-driven transportation, so we’ll see how developments take place with the new ‘STAIR’ battery.
