Does grandpa have sex offender records?

I was in his bedroom going through the closet and folding and sorting clothing when I found a metal lock box on the shelf buried behind shoes and junk.
There was no key attached but we had also found a key ring in his desk and I quickly found a match. When I opened it up I was dumbfounded. There were newspaper articles and official court documents stating that my grandfather had been in trouble and had sex offender records!
I had to ask my mom but she didn’t know much about it either, just that apparently he had been a voyeur and got caught, but that he had not ever harassedd or hurt anyone.
Some things should be buried with the dead.
