Forensic Serology - What Is This Field About

September 2, 2008 on 7:14 am | By admin | In Business

A forensic serologist is an expert in studying the blood samples found on a crime scene. A number of tests are performed on these samples under forensic serology. The first thing they find out is that whether the sample they have is actually blood or not. Secondly, they have to find out if it is actually human blood or not. Afterwards, forensic serology finds out the blood group and the Rh factor of the blood. This is done so as to figure out what antigens and antibodies constitute the blood sample collected. These tests help solve the case, as it can be found whether the blood sample belongs to a suspect or not.
