Before getting a dog breed that has become popular, potential dog owners should research the health background of the dog, its temperament, the needs of the particular breed, like grooming and exercise needs. All of this is important information that the potential pet owner should take into consideration prior to adopting a dog. Remember a dog lifespan is 10-15 years and this could be very long if the dog and the potential dog owner are not a good match.
