There are several way to attempt to stop telephone harassment. The first way is to simply change your phone number and make sure it is unlisted and unpublished. This makes it harder for a harasser to find you. If this doesn’t work you can try to find out who is harassing you with the aid of the phone company and/or the police. Caller ID can, in some cases, show where the call is coming from. Telephone harassment is illegal and if the caller can be identified they can be fined or arrested. You don’t have to put up with being harassed, even by bill collectors.
